The public response in Britain to the Brandt Report has been remarkably strong. The Report's moral language and its argument for an equitable and secure world economy have acted as a rallying call for the development NGOs. Their activities over the past year are described. The differences in attitude among the NGOs towards the recommendations of the Brandt Report have not mattered so far, but may become more prominent as the lobbying comes down to specific issues.
